Expanded Polystyrene Foam: Properties and Uses

Expanded polystyrene foam (EPS) is a popular thermal insulation material due to its lightweight nature, heat resistance, and cost-effectiveness.

It is commonly used in roofs, walls, and floors to provide insulation against temperature fluctuations.

EPS is manufactured by inflating polystyrene beads with pentane gas, creating a porous structure that consists of approximately 98% air and 2% polystyrene. This composition contributes to its excellent thermal insulation properties.
